The wrestling drama will be released across 4500 screens in India, the highest ever!
The main reason why the Raees and Sultan clash was averted was due to the lack of screens. And now that Raees has been pushed to January 2017, the Salman Khan starrer will enjoy a free solo run for almost two weeks till July 22, when Great Grand Masti hits screens. And hours before the release, Salman’s wrestling drama has started shattering records.
A source tells us, “YRF has planned a huge distribution strategy for the film. Sultan will release across 4500 screens in India itself and that is the highest ever for any Hindi film till date.” Salman’s previous film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo also released in around 4300 screens across the nation.
Given that this is the widest release of Bollywood till date and the advance bookings have ensured a record start to the film, makers are expecting a bombastic opening for the Salman Anushka starrer. Trade analysts are already predicting a Rs 150 crore opening weekend for the film (the film releases on a Wednesday and will have an extended weekend of 5 days). some are even saying that this will be Salman’s second film to hit Rs 300 crore.
