As expected by many, Narendra Modi has won from Maninagar constituency, defeating IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt’s wife Shweta Bhatt of the Congress by a margin of 86,373 votes.

Furthermore, BJP is all set to form the government in Gujarat for the fifth time in a row.

Elated with the win, the Gujarat Chief Minister tweets: “No need of looking behind …FORWARD…We want infinite energy, infinite courage, infinite patience…”

Modi is pretty much set for a third term as the Chief Minister of Gujarat with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) defeating Congress in a commanding fashion.

Defeating anti-incumbency for the second consecutive time, Modi has improved his chances for an entry into the national politics.

According to the trends, BJP is not going to improve much on the their last performance in 2007 when they won 117 seats.
