Xiaomi has launched its latest budget smartphone – Redmi 3s, in China. The company has launched two variants of the smartphone, with the 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant priced at $106, and the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage version bearing a price tag of $136. Both variants will be available for purchase on Xiaomi’s official website – mi.com, starting June 16.
In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Redmi 3s features a 5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM. It offers 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in size. Redmi 3s comes with hybrid dual-sim support and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Xiaomi’s MIUI baked on top.
Xiaomi Redmi 3s flaunts a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for selfies. It also includes 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options, with a 4,100mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.
Recently, the Chinese tech giant revealed that it will be launching a dedicated Mi Community in India on June 20. The company has already started accepting registrations for the community beta testers, and the forum will go live on June 14.
The company also revealed that the forum will work in the same way as its Chinese counterpart. It will enable registered Mi fans to contribute ideas, share feedback and take part in contests and become part of the launch events.
